Monday Day 8 Weigh In, 9, and 10

So I weighed in today and after 7 days on the Paleo Diet, I've lost 6 lbs.  STOKED!!!
Especially since I broke down and had some of the fruity pebble rice crispy treats that I made for Mike and Wyatt. (at least they are gluten free. lol) Mikes sister and nephew are in town this week and we are headed to Melbourne this weekend to meet Tenley Kay.  So it is going to be double hard to stay on track this week.  If I just lose two or three lbs Ill be happy.
Monday:
apple
handful of almonds
salad with zucchini and grilled chicken
Bubbahs for dinner: =(  Peanuts.  bubbahs salad (no cheese) with balsamic, marinated roasted chicken with skin removed, 1/2 sweet potato ( a little cinn butter)

Tues:
almond butter and banana smoothie with coconut milk
---that was about the only "good" thing I ate so we'll stop here........

Wed:
apple
salad with zucchini and grilled chicken with sunflower seeds
tuna pouch with olive oil mayo
Hamburger and angus hot dog no buns

Thurs:
Off to a much better start.  Chicken and Eggs with salsa for breakfast
Havent been to the gym yet this week and unless this cable guy hurries up I prob wont be able to go this week.  The gyms paleo challenge ends this week. Post later with the rest of my day ;)

Day 6 and 7

Saturday morning WOD too early, so I spent the morning vacuuming and mopping and doing a few loads of laundry...fun fun...Went to friends house for their daughter's pizza party...i had one beer and stared at my husband as he gobbled that greasy goodness! lol. i did steal a pepperoni and a sausage off on piece. But I was really proud of myself for not breaking down and eating a "small piece".
Saturday:
Breakfast: Eggs chicken and salsa, few grapes
Snack: Handful of almonds
Lunch: Chicken Apple Sausage
Snack: Yellow Peppers and Salsa
Dinner:  Kielbasa (not exactly paleo) and Sauerkraut...still feeling traditional i guess

Sunday was a supper sleep in for everyone in the house...but me! We didnt get home from friends until about 12 am so Wyatt and mike slept until 10.  I was up and at the grocery store by 8.  Home improvement day now, after a trip to HomeDepot, Mike is replacing our front door. Ive been designated the job of sanding the crown molding in the kitchen, then I'll tackle the laundry pile and try and get that all put away before tonight.

Day 5

Friday was a sleep in morning, wyatt was up late for our st.pattys day feast, so we slept in and had a date.  We were out of coffee at the house so I decided we would go to Starbucks for a coffee and a cookie.  I had full intentions of getting a large black iced coffee but when i got there all "good intentions" went out the window.  Wyatt got a pink icing covered "birthday cake" lollipop. and I got a Quad (4shots of espresso) Iced White Chocolate Mocha.  :/  I havent had any milk or dairy in about 3 weeks and it really hurt my stomach :(  Not worth it.  We went did a WOD at 4pm and my abs still hurt (on sunday).
Friday:
Breakfast: Eggs zucchini and cornedbeef scramble, Raspberry and 1/4 cup coconut milk smoothie
--Later--Iced White Mocha
Lunch: Tuna Pouch and a pickle
Snack: Almonds, Protein shake (bad) but i was running late for the WOD and didnt want to go on empty
Dinner: Chicken Breast

DAY 3 and 4

Worked on Wednesday, and did good.  Its easier when I work "inside" because snacking isnt as easy as when I work "outside".  And i work up to some drama so I was in a comfort food kinda mood
Wednesday:
Breakfast: Navel Orange
Snack: Almonds/Walnuts mix
Lunch: Broccoli with Crushed Walnuts and Left Over Chicken
Dinner: Salad with the felt over raw veggies
After Dinner:....ya....one supper big gulp red wine (not really that big lol) and two teaspoons almond butter

Thursday was a test of wills. Its the first day on the new diet that I would be home all day. With a refrigerator and a pantry in the next room. My husband hasnt gotten on the band wagon yet so there are still "cosmic brownies", chocolate chip mini muffins, etc etc etc in the house. I didnt really do good on having and meals and snacks, i kinda mini munched all day.  And then Mikes parent came over for dinner and hair cuts.
I went to the box with a friend this morning, hopefully she joins, maybe that will pull me in there more often.  It was nice to get in there again, when I go feel so good and motivated through out the rest of the day. Did a mild work out but it was nice since I haven't been there in a while.

Thursday
Breakfast:  1 egg spinach and red pepper frittata with hot sauce
Snack: TOO MANY ALMONDS
Lunch: Cut yellow red peppers and salsa
Dinner: Corned Beef and Cabbage. SOOO GOOOD!!!

I made mashed potatoes and cut a few potatoes to make Wyatt french fries in the oven.  When they came out I wanted to try and see if they were soft, as soon as I started chewing I gasped in air! DAMMIT!! LOL my mother-in-law asked...theyre too hot!?...I'm like "ya too hot!" grrrrrrrr.  Oh well Im not going to let one frenchfry derail me!!

DAY 2

I did well today and no headache. lol! Im really motivated right now and I cant wait to get in the gym on thursday.  I really dislike this time change because as much as I try to get in some excersize before bed...i look at the clock and realize that its 8 o clock and Wyatt still needs a bath and at least 20 minutes to "snuggle" before he goes to bed, by then its almost 9 and Im beat! Tonight he went to bed without a binkey...first time since damn near birth!!! He did surprizingly well, i thought he would cry for at least 10 minutes, but he was tired too. Ready freddies...
Breakfast: 2eggs, 1 white, just a few red peppers and spinach, one strip of bacon with the fatty parts peeled off
Snack:  1/4 of a Cuke and Vinegar
Lunch: Leftover Chicken (about 3 oz) 1 cup steamed broccoli, 3 walnut halves
Snack: 1 can tuna (rinsed) omega 3 mayo
Dinner: 4 oz Dry Rub (garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, ground red pepper) pork chop, samll mixed green salad with balsamic vinegar
Dessert: 1 sq 85% dark chocolate (now thats gunna take a minute to get used to)

Now I know its a little early to be getting into the sweets already but i was anxious to try it.  Ive always prefered dark to milk chocolate, and I do like the 85%...but the after taste is whats a little...hard...bitter...       : [~

FASTING...DAY 1

4 oz chicken (marinade: wheat/gluten free tamari sauce, fresh grated ginger and a spash of lemon juice)
1/4 cuke spash of rice vinegar
1/4 cup raw walnuts

I have a f***ing headache, I'm going to bed!!!!

I was really bad about journaling the last few days and as such i think that i again really got away from paleo eating.  its a thousand times easier to cheat when your not looking at that evil little book sitting on the kitchen counter. Friday was good.

Snack: Small handful of raw almonds
Lunch: Giant veggie salad: bib lettuce, spinach, zucchini, cuke, red peppers balsamic vinegar
Snack: Cuke dipped in organic salsa
Dinner: 3 oz chicken breast, broccoli

Saturday not great
Breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon, small amount of hasbrowns, 1 wheat toast grape jelly (yipes)
Snack: cukes and salsa
Lunch: two slices of JIF peanutbutter toast (double YIPES)
Rest of the night: I snacked on some things small salad. was in bed by 8!

Sunday ...yeaaaa
Breakfast: eggs , 2 slices bacon, small amount of hasbrowns
Snack: Half a banana
Lunch: Wheatthins and almondbutter (dammit)
Dinner: ground pork tacos lettuce cheese and wheat tortilla (f***)
As we speak....big glass of pinot noir!

I has started to read the Paleo Solution...not realizing ahead of time that i actually read the paleo diet (different author), and I have already found out the I am pretty damn close to being the "25%" that is the "slack ass full of excuses" group, but I know that I have it in me to do this.  So I am treating my last 2 weeks as more of an under-educated paleo trial run...the challenge at the gym is pretty far in and Im pretty far behind considering I havent been doing well with the diet and I havent been to the gym at all.  So tomorrow my plan is to detox, come home from work and GET MY SHIT TOGETHER...literally and figuratively.

Susan G. Komen 5K

This morning Wyatt and I participated in the Susan G Komen Race at Coconut Point.  We had a really great time and he did really well. Being confined to a stroller for about 2 hours for a 2 yr old is prob not fun! I had planned to run/walk for time when I signed up for the race, but a tragic accident took the life of a dear friend's mother, who was a breast cancer survivor, so instead I walked with the family in honor Jan LoFranco.  She was beautiful, inside and out, beautiful!  After the race I had breakfast with the family....not so paleo...and this one I dont feel bad about.  It was great to be in the house half of everyone cooking the other half eating.  It felt great to be around the Lofranco family again...Its been years.  Tonight I plan to get back on track.  I didnt post last night so I'll post again later with yesterdays and todays diet journal.

Today not so a new day....

I did pretty damn good today...all until Mike invited the in-laws over for a hot dog dinner...
I didn't want to eat totally different food so I figured I would try out the chicken sausage, gluten free, no fillers, all natural...or so the package says...but as far as paleo...I'm thinking, if it comes in a "package" its pretty much cheating.

Breakfast: 2 (omega3) eggs, zucchini, red onion omelet.
Snack:  Small handful of almonds
Lunch::  Raw spinach, zucchini, red onion, 3 oz lean beef, tablespoon of vinegar
Snack:  Little zucchini, 2 oz chicken breast
Dinner:  Zucchini, 2 sun dried tomato chicken sausage, small salad of bib lettuce with a few peppers cucumbers and nuts and raisins

As you can see I lost track at dinner.  I should have only had one chicken sausage and lost the extra nuts and raisins on the salad, Since they were from one of those salad topper bags and pron have loads of extra sugar and salt.

My next disclaimer is that you can not judge me on my spelling in this thing. Its late and I'm tired....on a lighter, more personal note...i have all my paperwork lined up for my new green card to come in the mail, so pray no glitches, and my drivers licence is also in route.  Got a call from the doc today, and as for my recent health "blip"...everything is fine.  I was going to go to kickboxing class with Julianne today since I knew I wouldnt make it to crossfit, but instead I had dinner with the fam and was able to get some more grocery shopping done.  So that will help me stay on track....hopefully a 100% paleo day tomorrow.

My Paleo/Crossfit Challenge

Hello!!
Now that I've finally figured this all out I am going to share with all of you how I will be living for the next month. (but hopefully longer) I have really been trying to be more dedicated to myself because as much as I seem to want to lose weight and get fit, it seems that lately i have seen the gym less, and watched the scale rise more.  The owner of the gym i attend (Crossfit Salvation), recommended that those of us that are doing the Paleo Challenge to start blogs so that we can share our journeys with paleo life. Today I did my fitness tests which were: 100 meter sprint (24 seconds) one rep max deadlift (175lbs) and max reps pushups (15 girlie).  The hopes of the challenge are to see at the end of the thirty days, how the paleo lifestyle can change our performace, and im sure for me....my waist line.  I haved yet to determine whether or not I have the balls to post those beginning measurements.  Though I am sure that would be VERY motivating.  Starting tomorrow be posting all of my meals through out the day.  The challenge started on March 1st and already I have fallen of the wagon, but even though I have lost the battle...I WILL WIN THE WAR!!
